Hi, Reader! I know it's been a while since we've talked, and I'll apologize right up front. I'm in a season of life that is busy and a little stressful, and let some things slide. So I'll understand if you see this letter and think, who is this?! But first, I want to know what's been going on in your life! How was your summer? How was the garden production? How's your pantry faring after a season of preservation? Let me know! How Do You Use Dehydrated Foods? This is probably the second most often question I'm asked. The first one is usually what did I do wrong (and that answer is usually not giving things enough time). But people really want to know how to use the dehydrated foods they put up. I know I love looking at all the pretty food sitting on my shelf - it really makes me happy! But we need to use the stuff we're putting up! Not only because we don't want it to go bad simply because it looks pretty, but also because if you really hit a wall and need it in an emergency, the last thing you want to do is try to figure it out! So I've been putting together some compilation videos to help show you how I use the foods that I put up. I'm not a fancy cook, but I do feed my family well with the foods I make. Most of the recipes are quick, simple, and don't require a bunch of fancy ingredients you may not keep in your pantry. Here is the list of videos you can check out to see dehydrated foods in action!• What I Actually Make with My Dehydrated Foods • You Won't Believe What You Can Make with Dehydrated Foods • Dehydrated Food Recipes Your Family Will Love But I don't like watching videos...And of course, if you're not a video person, most of those recipes are already on the website, ready for you to print off and put on your next meal plan! Until next time... Nevertheless, she preserved! Darcy! P.S. I really do want to know what's happening in your life right now. Just hit respond! I'll be the one reading it! P.S.S. I also have a new video out this week that talks about about things I wish you knew about dehydrating if you're struggling!

I'm Darcy, and I'm a dehydrating fiend! I love talking about food preservation through dehydrating, and all the ways that it can be used to create a stocked pantry and wonderful meals for your family!
Hi, Reader! This weekend I was so excited to show you a great project to do in your dehydrator. It's great for putting up food quickly without fuss or prep, can help bring heat and humdity to your home when you need it (those of us in the winter now - especially after the ice storms), and bring security to your food pantry. But then...this happened. My dehydrator burned most of the trays of food. Some full trays, some just spots. While I have a theory of what might have happened, I can't test...
Hi, Reader! If you are going to experience the big winter weather event happening this weekend, tell me how you're going to prepare for it. Are you: Panic-buying all the bread, milk, and TP Relying on what you already have stored Somewhere in the middle? I'm in the middle Relying on what we have, but also buying snacks and goodies to keep us from getting completely bored being stuck in the house for 3 days (potentially). We're shoring up plumbing things this evening to make sure outside...
Hi, Reader! In the deepest part of winter, dehydrating food may not be on your mind. You've just survived the Holidays, the weather outside is frightful, and you just want to curl up and hibernate until Spring. However, it's important that we never remove ourselves so much from stocking our pantries that we completely miss out on a great time of year to put things away for when we really need them. Imagine one of these scenarios: Being socked in by snow or ice and can't get to a store for...
